This is the introduction to garment construction in general. We deal with not only designs and patterns but also with fabrics, textures, body issues and how to deal with them at the drafting stage. Starting with the basic blocks needed to create pants, skirts, basic bodice front and back etc using specific measurements or standard ones for industry.
It's the ultimate, all encompassing program around available to you either online or in live classes. To complete this book students usually take 2 years and create many different garments in the process.
Finishing book 1 will earn students a Recognition of Successful Completion Certificate, the first step in earning your fashion designer diploma from this school
Pattern makers are in very short supply!
Anyone who can draft patterns for woven fabrics is in very high demand, they require a certain skill set that is being taught less and less relying more on stretch in fabrics for their shape.
In this section students will build on what was learned in book 1 with more challenging designs such as a raglan sleeve style with shaping, how to add rouching/draping and the list goes on.
Book 2 is a requirement to earn a
Tailor diploma. It will take 3 years to complete.
Book 3 is the final section of the series refining the techniques learned in Books 1 and 2.
If pattern makers are hard to find, pattern makers who are certified tailors in both men's and women's wear are even harder to find!
This series of books does it all from the simplest basic block to elaborate designs for women and tailored designs for men.
Once completed students will earn their pattern maker/designer diploma also the apprenticeship required by employers and law in certain parts of the world
